About this cause
Stoke Amateur Theatre Society is based in Ball Green Working Men’s Club, Stoke-On-Trent. SATS is renowned for its family ethos and inclusiveness. Unlike other theatre and dance schools, SATS is not-for-profit, and offers the community affordable lessons and workshops. Currently this is £3 for 2.5 hours. As our prices are low, we ensure that the arts are available to everyone in the local community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Engagement in community arts activities contributes to personal and social development. Personal benefits include improved communication and organisational skills and increased problem solving; these produce an enhanced sense of personal efficacy and achievement. Social benefits include enhanced connections and networks, improved local image, and stronger sense of place, identity, and heritage.
