People with learning disabilities will have the opportunity to have weekly music sessions with a music tutor as well as showcasing their skills to the community to improve understanding.

About this cause
Rowan is a vibrant arts centre for adults with a learning disability in Cambridge. For over 36 years we have provided a safe, creative, enriching and welcoming environment where the arts are used as a tool to bring people together, tackle social exclusion, develop skills and potential, improve happiness, health and wellbeing. We also deliver much-needed respite to families and carers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
In a world where labels carry weight, the label of “learning disabilities” often brings with it an underestimation of abilities. Being isolated during the coronavirus pandemic was difficult for all of us but for the student artists who usually attend Rowan it was even more difficult. This project will allow a focus on creativity as well as bringing the community together to showcase.
