Pigs in the Wood
We aim to provide disabled access and build toilets at Pigs in the Wood to give more individuals and groups the chance to interact with, care for and learn about our pigs in a natural environment.

About this cause
Pigs in the Wood gives a home to 20 pigs who live naturally in 10 acres of woodland. Our aim is to provide a home for pigs who are rescued from various situations and to educate the community about their welfare. We help the community by offering individuals and groups a unique experience to interact with and care for the pigs in their natural environment; and we put on several events per year.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will bring the community together by offering safe, accessible visits and events. Visiting or volunteering with us means spending time with animals in nature, which has been shown to improve mental wellbeing and increase physical activity. Our volunteers cooperate by jointly making decisions to care for the pigs, learn new skills and feel part of a community, thus reducing isolation.
