We would like to run online and physical drama sessions for women from refugee, asylum seeker and settled communities in Leeds, to improve mental wellbeing and tackle social isolation.

About this cause
We have run drama sessions for women from refugee, asylum seeker and settled communities in Leeds since February 2018. We help women to build confidence, improve mental health and make friends across cultures. Our drama sessions develop transferable skills to create empowered, resilient communities. Our purpose is to celebrate diversity, create performance and advocate for migrant rights.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our sessions use drama and creative activity to support better mental health. The inclusive group environment reduces social isolation and encourages women from different communities to work together. Breaking down barriers caused by migration status leads to increased community cohesion and wellbeing. Improved digital access and skills through online workshops will develop community resilience.
