Mind in Somerset
We would like to get our gardening project up and running again, benefiting the local community by offering a mental health service, reducing social isolation, and providing produce to share locally.

About this cause
We promote the preservation of mental health and assist in relieving and rehabilitating persons suffering from mental or emotional distress who require support or advice in association with Mind. Social and therapeutic horticulture is the process of using plants and gardens to improve physical and mental health and communication skills, and links us with our local community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By sharing our produce locally, the gardening project embraces the local community, as well as helping those socially isolated, those with poor mental health, and those lacking confidence or self-esteem. We encourage the active gardeners to attend horticultural courses and many have gone on to career changes as a result. The project encourages community wellbeing and cohesion.
