Upchurch Village Hall

We desperately need to upgrade the hall and have been fundraising to do so for some years. New heating has been installed but we would like to put in a new lower ceiling.
About this cause
The hall is used by village organisations, especially Upchurch Active Retirement Association (UpARA), the WI and short mat bowls. Most of these activities are for the over 55s. The local church also uses it for more informal services. The hall provides a purpose to the lives of many people. Weddings and children's birthday parties are also held here, providing a service for villagers and others.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Having the hall out of use has impacted everyone, as we have not been able to use the hall for activities or church gatherings. All weddings and children's parties have also been cancelled. The older members of the community will certainly be pleased when it reopens, as it constitutes much of their social lives.
