About this cause
We help anyone in food crisis who has been recommended by professional agencies, including those working with addiction, homelessness, housing, debt, job centres, domestic abuse, social services, schools, health, mental health, local council, the probation service and the police. Our purpose is to ensure that anyone in our area can obtain access to good quality food if they find themselves in desperate food situations.
How this cause brings people in the community together
During the recent Covid-19 pandemic there has been a greatly increased community spirit, raising awareness of the foodbank within the local community. It has resulted in an increase in both food donations and fundraising activities. There has also been a much greater involvement from volunteer drivers willing to take food to people in self-isolation.
