About this cause

we work to advance the education of the pupils in our small school, situated in the town of Ivybridge, Devon. The Charity is run by a small group of dedicated parent volunteers and we work very hard to fundraise for exciting projects that not only help the wellbeing of our children but of the wider local community. You can think of the volunteers as the 'fellowship of the willing'. The Erme Primary School is an old Victorian building built in 1886 and is located near the centre of the town close to nearby Plymouth. The school does not have any fields or open spaces within its grounds and the playground is only 390m2 and slopes towards a busy road. Whilst we have a focus on the children of the school we want to create something for the whole community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

This facility will enable children to play at all times of the year, in most weather conditions, allowed for organised & casual play. It is bought into and supported by the landowner Ivybridge Town Council. The synthetic surface has a proven track record for use with those groups need special adaptations such as wheel chairs. The surfacing will also cater for children of varying ages so the very young with its slightly bouncy feel which acts as a cushion for falls. It is also proven to mentally stimulate the young through the bright colours and robust equipment such as the football goals. The end result will be a multi use area free for all to use the only one in the town for 12500 residents.
