We would like to buy landscaping materials and plants so that we can create a beautiful, therapeutic space to host community events and for local people to remember loved ones lost.
About this cause
Our community brings people together through gardening. Volunteers help maintain our garden and enjoy learning new skills and working towards a common goal. We also hold events to celebrate learning and special occasions, and grow and cook our own produce. We are currently creating a peaceful garden to remember lost loved ones and allow calm reflection for pupils and community members.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Volunteers and adults supported within the community will help build and maintain the garden, and link with Syrian/Iranian refugees who are keen to help. The plants will help to remember lost pupils and staff, and the therapeutic activities will help pupils to better deal with stress and/or bereavement. Celebratory events, such as soup shares and skills lessons, will bring people together.
