About this cause
As a place-based charity, Junction Arts creates work with people to improve wellbeing and inspire positive change. Our festivals, workshops, and events help communities facing social barriers such as poverty, poor health, and low aspirations to create a better future through the arts. We have been working across North East Derbyshire for over 40 years.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The parade has been part of Bolsover for 27 years - we often hear how the event makes people proud of their town. All activities are accessible and open to all; providing opportunities for people to socialise, share skills and build wellbeing. People spend weekends immersed in creativity with others. This annual parade is made up of around 1000 people carrying lanterns whilst thousands more watch.
