Skills
We would like to run a skill-based training course for community members to become volunteer recovery coaches in order to support other, more vulnerable people in their local community.

About this cause
We support children and adults affected by their own or other's harmful or problematic drug and alcohol use. We do this by providing one-to-one and group recovery support (personalised, confidential and discreet) in local communities and online. We also aim to prevent harm by educating people. This includes school and youth club based workshops, workplace wellbeing sessions and professional training.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We already use an 'asset-based community development' approach and train community peers to support one another. But the scale and pace of what we need to do now has increased and currently, we have far too many people asking for support than we can help, simply due to a lack of trained volunteers. More active volunteers means more people and their families directly supported.
