Empty Common Community Garden

We would like to build a hut from recycled and sustainable materials so we have a place to shelter, meet, store equipment, run workshops and make hot drinks at our much-loved community garden.
About this cause
The garden improves health and mental wellbeing, increases social connectedness, fosters co-operation and the sharing of skills, increases environmental awareness, provides a growing, meeting and event-holding space suitable for all ages and abilities, provides for the many with no garden, produces food and a garden for wildlife, increases resilience and provides an inspiring public space.
How this cause brings people in the community together
During the pandemic the garden has been a haven, with more people than ever joining us. We have been growing resilience as we garden, find nature and co-operate on a project, while social distancing. We grow food for ourselves and others in need. The addition of a hut for shelter, to make hot drinks and enable educational and other activities, would make the garden more versatile.
