We aim to help people achieve their personal physical and mental health goals, whether this be by increasing their exercise capabilities or just by getting their face in the water for the first time.
About this cause
Wigton Baths Trust is a group of local volunteers who took over the running of Wigton Baths Community Pool when Cumbria County Council announced its closure in 2014. The Trust employs trained lifeguards and swimming instructors who provide a broad range of wellbeing activities for people of all ages and abilities, thus supporting the mental and physical health of the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Wigton Baths has been providing community swimming for 115 years. As a registered training school, we not only teach swimming and all things aquatic, we also provide training and volunteering opportunities for all those aged over 16 years. We are a small yet vital part of the Wigton economy.
