Our Liberation Project is designed in response to identified needs of older people, to help reduce loneliness and isolation through a range of activities chosen by older people, for older people.
About this cause
Our organisation was established by the community, for the community in 1996. We deliver a large number of classes, courses, services, activities and projects designed around the need of the communities we work in. Through consultation we identify the changing needs and involve the community in all our work. We run provision for people of all ages and abilities.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Since the onset of Covid-19, we adapted all activities so we could continue supporting groups and individuals via online and telephone provision. We set up an emergency project that provided collection and delivery of prescriptions, food shopping, positive mental health packs, online children and youth clubs, food hampers, fruit and veg packs, and hot cooked meals for the most vulnerable groups.
