About this cause
Remake is a community reuse charity, and our purpose is to promote the reuse of materials for the benefit of our community. Last year, we diverted almost 46 tonnes (or the equivalent weight of 29 mid-sized cars) of surplus materials from landfill and provided affordable materials and furniture to individuals, community groups, and schools. We provide volunteering, training, and employment opportunities.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Rural isolation and poverty are increasing problems in our area. A tool library will provide weekly opportunities for volunteers, help build stronger links within our community, provide repair knowledge and skills, support everyone to fix their own items, while providing convenient access to affordable tools and equipment.
