About this cause
The charity was set up to enhance quality of life and community cohesion in Epsom by converting an abandoned Grade II-listed building, formerly known as Horton Asylum Chapel, into a vibrant, sustainable venue. We aim to provide new opportunities and amenities for local people and create a social and cultural space in one of the most deprived wards in Surrey.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The development of the garden has become a greater priority due to coronavirus, as people are able to come together more safely outdoors. It would be a space to sit and reflect, with creative and wellbeing activities. A nature trail around the site would provide a focus for younger visitors. Maintaining the garden would offer volunteers the opportunity to develop new skills and make friends.
