We would give local disadvantaged men the chance to get out of the house and back into society. They would be able to look forward to and attend twice weekly meetings, improving their wellbeing.
About this cause
We run twice weekly social meetings over lunchtime periods for local men who are in need of company, friendship and fraternal support for many reasons, such as social isolation, loneliness and exclusion from society in general. Our meetings include soft refreshments and are free at the point of use for all attendees.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Loneliness and exclusion is widely seen as an accepted detriment to mental wellbeing. We seek to address this within a friendly and welcoming environment. The epidemic has affected people who invariably live alone and will be most affected by it. By making our offer available to all men within the locality, we see this as an invaluable way of bringing local communities closer together.
