We would like to supply a 'My Bag' to every child entering the care system for the first time.
About this cause
Of the 32,000 children that enter the foster care system for the first time each year, over 500 live in Nottinghamshire; that is one child every 17 hours. Many of these vulnerable individuals are given a bin liner to put their possessions in. 'My Bag' eases the impact of this traumatic experience by providing a bag containing comfort items including a teddy bear, blanket, colouring book, reading book, and a water bottle amongst other things.
How this cause brings people in the community together
My Bag Charity ensures a little self worth to the most vulnerable in our community. We work closely with both the City and County Council to make sure as many children as possible receive a 'My Bag' when they enter into care.
