About this cause

Bexleyheath Cricket Club provides training and match facilities for the local community. We have eight colts’ teams from school years 1 to 13. We have five Saturday league teams and two Sunday teams. All train and play at the facilities in Park View Road. The grounds are also used by the England Visually Impaired cricket team and local primary and secondary schools through the summer months. Our training nets are mobile and can only be used on the cricket square. So while matches are taking place there is no opportunity for other members to come along and train with a coach or practice in the nets. We are investing in fixed nets in our ground. This would allow training and group coaching to continue when matches are taking place.

How this cause brings people in the community together

When completed it will allow more groups to practice on more occasions. Schools can use them for their team practice during the daytime. Our club teams can practice more than once a week which is currently the restriction due to matches. During school holidays our older colts can safely use the facilities to develop their game. Club members of all ages can train together in a safer environment.
