Ryedale Carers Support provides free practical and emotional support for unpaid adult carers, the people they care for and older people living alone in the Ryedale area. We offer a sitting service for unpaid carers, provided by volunteers to enable carers to take a break from their caring responsibilities. We also offer a visiting service for older people living alone, who feel socially isolated, as well as a Carers Support Group that provide carers with the opportunity to share concerns and receive positive support. We run three monthly events: Songs and Scones, Farmer's Breakfast and a walking group.
Ryedale Carers Support has identified a number of people who have become lonely and isolated as result of bereavement or illness. At a monthly event we provide bacon butties and arrange entertainment. We also provide transport, ensuring that anyone who would like to attend can do so. We aim to enable people to form new friendships and rekindle old friendships.
