About this cause
Cheshire Agricultural Chaplaincy covers all of Cheshire and Wirral, offering 24-7 support to the farming community with a listening ear, pastoral support and the ability to bring in supporting agencies. Many people we support are suffering from depression, mental health issues or financial difficulties. Team members visit farms, local livestock markets, agricultural shows and lead church services. The farming community has one of the highest rates of suicide, with many suffering financial pressure, isolation, family disputes, poor harvests, livestock disease and long hours of work. This contributes to serious levels of hopelessness and depression. We deliver support with an understanding of the issues faced.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have a varied calendar of events which bring people together who would otherwise be isolated due to the nature of farming work. This runs alongside our work to help people in times of special need or crisis.
