About this cause

Since 2006, Kilter Theatre has forged a reputation for creating inspiring arts events and workshops in collaboration with a wide range of organisations and communities in and around Bath. Our work is aimed at engaging and empowering participants in the things that matter to them - from exploring and celebrating their local community, to protecting the environment. We have worked in some of the most deprived areas of Bath, including Twerton and Foxhill, celebrating the stories, the people and the future of these communities, and providing opportunities for residents of all ages to take part in and contribute to creative activities. We are particularly passionate about helping people to connect with nature, which has proven positive effects on both physical and mental wellbeing.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The ideas and words generated by the children at the workshops will be passed to a local composer who will set them to music. The songs will then be "gifted" to the community, and performed by local musicians together with members of the community at school assemblies, community events and at special, inter-generational events in local outdoor spaces, including Bath City Farm.
