About this cause
Support To Recovery (S2R) uses art, creativity and nature to promote positive mental health and wellbeing, and improve social contact. We work with individuals in small groups to develop resilience and structure, with the aim that people will achieve personal outcomes and positive outlooks. We work with adults and families wishing to improve their wellbeing. We work from our base in Huddersfield and from numerous outreach locations. Our Great Outdoors Project links in with initiatives from both the council and community sectors to improve green spaces and the environment for all through work days, growing projects and general education. By improving these assets and increasing access to nature, we can improve wellbeing for all.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We receive requests from schools, community groups and charities to help them stage events in the outdoors. We use nature to bring people together through outdoor cooking, growing projects, nature walks, outdoor mindfulness, sports, arts and crafts. We create safe spaces for people to come together, try new things and get to know each other as they become more confident in nature.
