Writtle Infant School

We would like to build a 'Health & Happiness' hub to bring people together, and provide a wellbeing centre for the whole community.

About this cause
Our village infant school is passionate about offering holistic support to our families. We aim to establish mental resilience, so that our young children can reach their potential as prosperous, happy and healthy adults. As an established institution, we are in a position to extend our expertise in wellbeing to the wider community, and provide a space for other agencies to support the mental health of the village. We work daily with vulnerable children and their extended families, offering early intervention for mental health, behaviour, speech and language issues. We are involved with the Link Club for the housebound elderly, Writtle Parish Council, local businesses and the library. We work closely with local schools and pre-school settings to support pupils across their school journey.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our hub will support the mental health and wellbeing of children, families and vulnerable adults in the village. It has been endorsed by the parish and county councils, and our local MP. Interest has been received from Chelmsford School Sports Partnership, our school nursing team, Home-Start, Writtle Link Club, and local groups offering forest schools, yoga, mindfulness and fitness classes.
