About this cause
Christ Church Youth Work benefits the whole of the community. We run seven youth groups a week, meet young people on the streets and in parks in detached youth work on Friday evenings, and we go into the local secondary school providing identity courses and lunchtime drop-ins. In addition to this we organise many community projects, like The Noise, encouraging young people to volunteer, build positive bridges across the generations and form a stronger community. We have a dedicated youth team, all volunteers, who are good role models to the young people and instil positive values. We provide a safe space where young people can feel valued, socialise, have fun, develop good character and a sense of community, and where they are encouraged to make good healthy choices.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our youth work brings young people together in a positive, healthy environment. It also takes young people out into the community, volunteering in community projects, often alongside other members of the community, which enables young people to develop skills, confidence and character, whilst having a positive impact on the wider community, making it stronger.
