About this cause
For 35 years, Paul’s Cancer Support Centre has been helping people cope with the impact of cancer. We support over 500 people per year to overcome the challenges of cancer and rebuild fulfilling lives. Activities include counselling, wellbeing activities such as yoga and qigong, and self-management courses such as mindfulness. We deliver a home visiting service for those too frail to come to us.
How this cause brings people in the community together
85% of our clients talk about their loneliness and 75% are over 50. Wellbeing activities tackle isolation by creating regular opportunities for clients to interact with peers and develop more positive mindsets and coping strategies. Last year, 65% of our clients reported in an improvement in their feelings of loneliness after accessing our services.
