About this cause
Lochgilphead Bowling Club is a community-run club, which offers the facilities, support and equipment required for people of all ages to take up the sport of bowls. It also provides a great social environment for its members and their friends, along with a support network for all involved with the club. We have had a great recruitment drive this year to encourage new members by running various fun events and meet and greet sessions, which have been well supported and greatly increased our membership. We aim to continue this proactive approach within the club. The clubhouse is also used by other groups, and we actively encourage our local community to make the most of the facilities, not just club members.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our membership numbers are growing, and we are keen to keep that trend going. Several weekly events take place in our main hall, such as fitness classes and bingo nights, and it is also available for families to hire out. We are looking to build upon this, so other groups and individuals can use our facilities. This will bring the whole community together in a safe and suitable environment.
