We will deliver money skills sessions to vulnerable people in our community, to improve money management skills and maximise life chances.
About this cause
From our centre in the heart of Sevenoaks we provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to people in Sevenoaks and surrounding areas for issues such as debt and financial difficulties, housing, health, welfare benefits, employment and family relationships. We are open to assist anyone, whilst focusing on reaching the most vulnerable in our community. For example, 35% of our clients have disabilities and long term health conditions. Our advice is available via phone, email or in person and is delivered primarily by highly trained volunteers from the local community. Citizens Advice, Sevenoaks, aims to provide the advice people need for the problems they face so they can move forward with confidence as well as the skills they need to avoid facing problems in the future.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will bring people together by using our very strong partnership links with a wide range of organisations in our area such as Carers First, Age UK, local Mind, where we have delivered information sessions such as energy saving and switching sessions. Our money skill sessions will also help alleviate isolation by equipping people with budgeting skills which will open up new life opportunities.
