About this cause
We promote the welfare of blind and partially sighted people living in Barnet by offering friendship, help and support, especially to those who have been recently diagnosed. We also educate the public about the needs and aspirations of the visually impaired. We run gentle exercise sessions for our visually impaired members, organise visiting speakers and entertainment, arrange games and activities, specialist talks on sight related issues, outings, raffles and refreshments, all tailored around the needs of the visually impaired. Every year we organise outings to places of interest such as stately homes, boat trips, and visits to sculpture parks. We also have regular theatre outings. Membership is a nominal amount and is available to all.
How this cause brings people in the community together
All will benefit as yoga is a system of exercises that strengthens the mind and body. These classes will allow people from all walks of the community to join in a shared experience.
