Our tech clubs help people living with sight loss to train in online communications skills.

About this cause
4Sight Vision Support has been supporting the social welfare of visually impaired people in West Sussex for 98 years. We work to tackle loneliness, isolation and increase the independence of people with visual impairment. Our multidisciplinary approach includes an ophthalmic nurses’ welfare support service at point of diagnosis in local eye clinics, outreach low vision assessments, equipment, Vision Support Centres and a range of social activities and network groups run by our loyal volunteers across the county. West Sussex has the largest incidence of age-related sight loss in the UK, with almost 31,000 severely sight-impaired or partially sighted people.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will demonstrate and teach members how to use the latest technology, give them the tech tools to live more independently and support better communications skills. It will help reduce social isolation through group face-to-face workshops, as well as increase skills, helping to gain employment in some cases, or enter into learning or education or volunteering again.
