We plan to fund a proportion of farm costs to provide education for children and ensure the farm is ready for weekend and event visitors.

About this cause
Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is an educational trust based on a 140-acre farm in Sheffield. Each year we support over 10,000 children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds and the inner city, to grow. We aim to inspire, nurture and expand the horizons of children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and/or additional learning needs, many of whom struggle in school. Our mission is to enrich the educational experience and personal development of all children and young people, regardless of their circumstances, and to improve knowledge around food, farming and the environment. Many of our young visitors have never been on a farm or in the countryside so a visit is an unforgettable experience that might change their lives forever.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our farm is open to the general public at weekends and for events. We want everyone to be able to see the animals and understand why what we do is so important. We don’t charge for our farm tours, but we ask for a donation towards the work of the charity. This way, our farm is accessible for all. Our education programmes ensure there really is a place in education for every child.
