About this cause
We are an affiliated Trussell Trust food bank, assisting the community with emergency food parcels, signposting, and access to other services located within the building. We regularly host events aimed at community cohesion and engage with people who are socially isolated. This is inter-generational and multi-cultural, working in areas of Clifton suffering from social deprivation. We regularly assist during times such as school holidays when food poverty is at its premium. The food bank has been open seven years and we offer a holistic approach to the service, looking at the wellbeing of people who come to us and offering solutions to people who need the service.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We aim to provide activities that are inclusive to all. Our consultation work tells us that many people who visit the food bank suffer with mental health issues and we can provide services and events to reduce social isolation. We work closely with community cohesion at Nottingham City Council to reach out to as many communities as we can.
