Our primary school is at the heart of the small community of Scarcliffe. We strive to provide the best quality of education we can for our children and are passionate about supporting their mental and physical health. Through the project we are hoping to purchase some permanent fixtures to promote physical activity in the school (and local community). If successful, the junior gym equipment would help to build on our children's physical health. Currently, we work hard to engage people from the local community. We invite them into the school on a regular basis and are always keen for them to support and attend local events.
Our oldest children will be established as gym managers. It will be their job not only to timetable the gym so that all our young people get to access it, but they would also look into ways of inviting the local community to use it too, including parents and carers. The school council is also keen to invite grandparents and the elderly in – particularly those who are isolated.
