We would like to fund author-led workshops within Culcheth Library to promote literacy to all members of the local community.
About this cause
We aim to support the library in delivering a range of activities and offer practical support to promote the role of the library as a community resource. The activities we support include delivering additional events beyond those planned by the library, supporting one-off activities in the library such as author talks, supporting the recruitment of volunteers, and fundraising for items such as furniture or equipment or to support the introduction of a new service.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Last year, we part-funded a workshop which was well attended by school children. We wish to extend this opportunity to more people. These workshops will be free for library users and we will aim each workshop at different age groups within the community. We expect that this will encourage people to join the varied groups that FoCL supports.
