We are a small charity based in Woolwich, working with adults and young people with a learning disability. We want everybody to have rights, choices and chances, be able to say what they want and need, be heard, and be part of the community. We offer citizen advocacy and short-term advocacy to people with learning disabilities and young people with disabilities in the borough of Greenwich. Trained volunteers and paid staff provide this to ensure that people listen to the views and wishes of the individuals they support and respect their rights to ensure people have control over their own destinies.
People with a learning disability are often isolated and lonely, and can lack the confidence to get involved with groups and activities in their local community. We will support people with a learning disability to develop their confidence and skills by providing training and group work to be 'Learning Disability Champions' within the local community.
