About this cause
KidsOut is a charity providing positive opportunities and experiences to enhance the wellbeing and outlook of disadvantaged children, supporting them in becoming well-integrated members of their local community. Based in Bedfordshire, KidsOut provides services in the local community and nationally, mainly through fun days out and toy boxes for children being rehomed after refuge. KidsOut works to enhance the social inclusion of these forgotten disadvantaged children, in their local communities. Our services offer respite for disadvantaged children at risk of mental health problems, allowing them to interact with peers in similar situations, developing the social skills needed to succeed later in life and enhancing their social mobility.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The children we support, like those in refuge and siblings of the critically or mentally ill, face restricted access to local opportunities. Feelings of anger and anxiety lead to greater risks of developing mental health issues and hinder development. Fun days to local attractions bring these disadvantaged children into the community, enhancing their mental wellbeing and social inclusion.
