About this cause

Be Enriched is a registered charity, founded in 2013 to enrich the community through food. We do this by creating social sanctuaries where people can get together, creating opportunities for communities to develop skills through volunteering and work experience. We deliver intergenerational food knowledge sharing projects focused on health and wellbeing. We set up the Wandsworth Food Partnership, alongside Wandsworth Public Health, and we are a member of the London-wide Borough Food Strategy Group. Our projects work with young people at risk, young disabled adults, parents, families and those seeing asylum. Our community-focused projects bring together the elderly, those in recovery, the homeless and the general public with these groups in a safe and respectful way.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The Battersea Canteen brings together 25-35 people each week from all walks of life to enjoy a free, freshly-cooked hot meal in the middle of the Ethelburga estate. Volunteers and guests are able to sit together in harmony and discuss and resolve issues. We aim to bring more people together regularly, thereby reducing isolation.
