Merry Go Round Toy Libraries lends out good quality toys, games and play resources to local children aged from a few months to early teens. Some have additional needs, whilst for others English is their second language. Borrowing toys is great for families on low income or with limited space at home. Anyone who cares for children can join the toy libraries, from parents and grandparents, to toddler groups and after school clubs. We run two weekly sessions throughout the year where children and parents can play and meet other families whilst choosing toys to take home. Our toy librarians are on hand to give advice on which toys are the best possible ones for an individual child's needs and interests. Our aim is to help children learn and develop to their full potential through play.
Parents and children of all backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities will be able to play together and borrow the best possible toys which they may not otherwise be able to afford. They will meet other families in the process, helping to reduce feelings of isolation. They'll be able to access advice and signposting to other services and be able to learn which toys help individual children.
