About this cause
The Pirate Castle is a boating and outdoor activities charity and a fully accessible community centre on the Regent's canal. We promote learning and healthy living through canal-based activities and have been flying the flag for opportunity and adventure on the waterway since 1966. We strive to tackle disadvantage, challenge exclusion, and support vulnerable members of our community. Our free and subsidised projects enhance health and wellbeing, nurture life skills, and bring people together.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By offering activities which may otherwise be out of reach because of poverty, disability, or cultural difference, our free and affordable projects bring youngsters from different backgrounds and abilities together in a rewarding, fun, and social setting. Our team-focused activities nurture new friendships, promote mutual respect, and help foster a collective sense of trust and responsibility.
