We support the neonatal unit at King's Mill Hospital to make life a little easier for the families, who have babies being cared for there.
About this cause
The charity supports families and staff on the neonatal unit at King's Mill Hospital. We aim to make life easier for families who have a baby on the unit at a time of great stress. We pay for additional staff training and also pay for staff to attend national and international conferences. We offer practical support by giving welcome packs, paying for bus travel to visit the hospital, providing meal vouchers for the hospital restaurant and local pub, buying nursing chairs to encourage more skin-to-skin contact between parents and babies and contributing to making the environment more comfortable.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We encourage parents with a shared experience to support each other whilst on the unit and following discharge. Many people we have supported undertake fundraising activities to raise money for us which then is used to support more families. Families also share their stories through social media, promoting our charity and encouraging others to get involved.
