We want to run activities including a residential trip to promote independence and social skills among deaf children and young people.
About this cause
Our organisation aims to support the educational, physical, social and spiritual well being of deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deaf blind people of all ages and their families in Cumbria. We provide communication support, care packages and support for families with deaf children through advice and guidance, social activities for children and young people and their parents
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our community is the deaf community of Cumbria. By being able to provide activities that can bring them together from isolated parts of a rural county enable them to find support and guidance on issues they struggle with. Many families with a deaf child in Cumbria never come across another family in their position so being able to bring these families together throughout the year is beneficial
