Keep Wales Tidy
Environment
We want equipment and PR to clean up the Afon Lwyd river and improve this precious environmental resource for our community.
About this cause
Keep Wales Tidy aspires to build resilient communities living in better managed and cared for environments, and to change public awareness of the importance of the environment. Our objectives and aims are: To protect, preserve and enhance the environment of town and country in Wales for the benefit of everyone • The education of all sectors of the community and the promotion of awareness of the ways in which the environment is at risk, and ways that this can be minimised through sustainable management practices. We tackle local environmental quality issues such as litter, dog fouling and graffiti; work with all 22 local authorities across Wales and over 90% of Welsh schools; support over 700 community groups and over 20,000 volunteers a year
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will work with community groups and volunteers in Torfaen to engage them in activities that will promote cooperation and provide opportunities to work together to tackle the issue of the quality of the river. The project will provide support, training, and equipment for groups and individuals to make a difference in their local community, and improve their health and well being
