About this cause
Trinity Care Service (TCS) aim to relieve the effects of loneliness and isolation for older people. Our aim throughout 2018 is to continue to provide a service for the frail, vulnerable and lonely in our community including those living with memory loss and their carers. We run a weekly lunch club meeting from 10-3 (TLC) for the over 60's and a monthly memory café for anyone experiencing memory loss and their carers. At the lunch club we provide transport for those living locally, arm chair exercise, a weekly quiz and a varied programme of entertainment. We also go on trips (funds permitting). During 2017 we started a programme of intergenerational work with our local primary and secondary schools which has continued in 2018. We have received positive feedback from all involved.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project brings people together in the community in a pleasant and safe environment where people can make friends and socialise. We are working with both the local secondary and primary schools. The local secondary school come on a weekly basis to help with refreshment and talking with the clients. It is great to see older people and younger people enjoying each others company.
