About this cause

ESY is a youth work charity that is open to any local young people aged 11-19. As an organisation, we seek to help and support young people, work to improve their personal and social development, teach them new skills and improve the quality of their lives. We support young people in a number of ways: We run two weekly drop-in sessions in term time. One of these is on a Saturday evening and offers sporting activities, cooking and crafts. We also offer our own life skills award which teaches young people valuable life skills such as budgeting and CV building. Our second drop-in is a revision/homework group after school. We also undertake Young Carers support at the local Academy and we carry out detached youth work on the streets of Lancing to help discourage anti-social behaviour.

How this cause brings people in the community together

This project brings together local young people, community volunteers and other organisations, to work together in order to provide hot meals for those young people who need them. We would seek to work with other local organisations to both help directly deliver this project, and also to identify young people who need this service.
