About this cause
Lyth Arts Centre is the most northerly mainland arts centre in the UK. We present an annual programme of theatre, music, dance, visual arts and family events in Caithness, Scotland. Lyth Arts Centre has the aim of reaching all 25,000 residents of Caithness. In 2018/2019 we have a particular focus in establishing a leading offer for families to engage in arts events. We work with local schools, community groups and independently to bring some of the best artists from the UK and internationally to Caithness to give the opportunity to witness and take part in incredible arts events. Lyth Arts Centre is broadening access to the arts in Caithness, through low or no cost events.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our family arts programme will be free or reduced ticket prices. Access is open to all, and all background are welcome. Arts performances and workshops promote co-operation though direct engagement in a creative activity. Lyth Arts Centre directly seeks to work with typically hard to reach groups, from across the wider community, to provide them with access to high quality arts activity.
