Four Towns and Vale Link Community Transport
Social Inclusion
We want to run regular monthly coffee mornings for the socially isolated.
About this cause
We provide community transport to anyone in the community who has an access need and cannot use conventional transport. This helps reduce social isolation and enables people to stay in their own homes and remain independent. We provide affordable accessible transport in converted vehicles to get people to:- shops, doctors, hospitals, social events, lunch clubs. We have a mixture of volunteer and paid members of staff all of whom have a genuine desire to help get people out and about and have a better quality of life. Our service users range from special needs school children to senior citizens.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The benefits and outcomes we expect to achieve as a result of the funding would be Social inclusion (not isolation), Maintaining friendships, Making ‘new’ friends, Group activities, Raise awareness of services that are available (i.e transport). Promotion of Social trips/clubs and Enriching people’s lives.
