Harmony Youth Project
Young People
We want to open our centre to local young people and provide entertainment, including games, activities and movies.
About this cause
Harmony Youth Project was set up to assist young people aged between 8 and 21 years old, especially those who are disadvantaged, in realising their true potential through the medium of creative arts, social activities and extra-curricular activities and courses. We provide activities focused around music production, photography, cooking, keeping fit, CV writing and interview skills for youngsters not in education, employment or training (NEET), anti-bullying initiatives and much more. Participants can gain nationally-recognised qualifications. Similar workshops are also available outside school hours for those in full-time education.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Anti-social behaviour, usually in the form of graffiti, vandalism and drunk/rowdy behaviour decreases as the young people are positively engaged and off the streets. With people from many contrasting cultures living in the area, by socialising together, we aim to get the youth to create a mutual respect for one another which, in turn, is passed on to their children and possibly younger siblings.
