About this cause
Watford Women's Centre is a charity run by women for women who are impacted by domestic abuse. Our charities values include : Empowerment, Development, Support and Education and within our core values we provide a range of support to help women build trust relationships with staff, explore their situation and move away from harmful relationships. Our services include: One to One domestic abuse casework, Low cost counselling, Education and Training and Careers Advice and Wellbeing activities. The Charity works with women in immediate need and crisis as well as women who are not yet ready to disclose but benefit from confidence building and wellbeing activities and a safe space to discuss their situation. Watford Women's Centre is a small charity with a big heart.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will enable women stigmatised and isolated as a result of physical, emotional and financial abuse to come together on a regular basis, reduce isolation, share experiences and gain the support to move away from harmful relationships. A key aspect of women living with domestic abuse is leaving takes a long time.
