We want to deliver a community festival in 2019 celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of Lorna Doone.
About this cause
Exmoor National Park Authority decides what measures to take to achieve the two National Park purposes; Exmoor National Park Authority work to: "To conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the National Park" and "To promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of the National Park by the public". We deliver special projects to conserve Exmoor's nature, heritage and access through our CareMoor for Exmoor scheme, which is what we would like to promote in partnership with Coop.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will directly engage young people through schools and outside of education. We plan to encourage local business participation, and joint working with voluntary groups and individuals. People will come together around events, exhibitions, walks, talks, a parade, re-enactments, a mini-play. The festival will rely on individuals and groups working together with ENPA offering coordination.
