MovementWorks: 'Action for Brockley'

We wish to run a pioneering action programme of MovementWorks® classes accessible to local children & related community learning workshops.
About this cause
We have been based in SE London since 2012. We work closely with the local community, outreach to other boroughs & present our work at National level. Our approach is unique in a number of ways:- • Our work is evidenced based • We provide inclusive dance programmes that focus on child development & individuals with special needs (inc autism & related differences) • Our programmes increase whole-body learning experiences in a structured, socially interactive & enjoyable way • We provide training courses & share best practice through community workshops aimed at educators, parents & carers. Our objects are for the public benefit, the advancement of education & the arts & the relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Sessions provide the ideal framework for developing children's physical, social & emotional growth on an individual & group level. Notably beneficial for those with English as an Additional Language of which there is an above average percentage within the area. Children's Centre & local library to act as hubs for the learning workshops for parents/carers, enhancing knowledge & community cohesion.
